I was expecting a better use of technology, like use of GPS. This is just a bunch of static pages. Too expensive when you can get a free brochure instead.

Dont use this app if you are roaming. Data costs will be sky high, the app is always updating, and the multimedia content can only be accessed if connected. A waste of money because we were not able to use it while walking the trail.

Crashing on iPhone 6

The app is not worth purchasing. There is no audio guide, the trail isn’t even marked and they should be able to do so much better @ $5. I wish I could get a refund. I used it for about 3 minutes and then never opened it again. It really should have THE Freedom Trail marked (or at least one version of it) and an audio guide to go along with the dots on a map. Not helpful and disappointed to waste $5.

The app includes great information! It was very helpful. The only improvement would be an interactive map. Bostons streets are built going up Beacon Hill, and its easy to lose your orientation.

Just used this app on our recent trip to Boston. For $5 it was extremely disappointing. For most of the sites on the trail, when you select map, there was a blank screen. It gave you some basic info on the site, but under the trivia option, sometimes it repeated the same info!! Save your money and find a free app. By the way, this is the app recommended by the freedom trail website. Wish I had my money back.

This app doesnt even deserve one star it is so weak. It doesnt deliver on the promises it makes in the description (integration with GPS, etc.). Acting as a conduit to web sites does not an app make. Linking me to an interactive map of my current location would be nice. Showing me a static map is not an app, it is a picture of a map. For $4.99 I expected a heck of a lot more. This is nothing but a paid for, poorly executed electronic version of the free tour guide maps that are available everywhere in Boston.

Dont waste your money. I too bought this because it was endorsed by the official Freedom Trail Foundation. It was missing basic information such as museum hours and admission prices, not to mention missing anything beyond what you can get for free in a simple tourist brochure. Content was exceedingly thin. This app in its current form is a lost opportunity for the Freedom Trail and lost money and time for me. But dont miss the Freedom Trail itself—its a national treasure.

Difficult to use on the move and contains very little useful information. I found myself having to alternate between the app and Google map, which is a nuisance. Works on ipad, but only with iphone sized display (was not warned about this).

This was a total waste of money. Useless information. Unworkable maps. No decent direction or assistance. A today waste of money.

Dont get this app. Just donate your $5 to the Freedom Trail Foundation. At least that wont leave you with the frustration of thinking that you bought something. The Trail is a must-see national treasure. This app is whatever the opposite of that is.

This is my first time writing a review. I felt compelled to because this is the worst app I have ever downloaded and definitely the worst value. I wish I could give it no stars. Use Wikipedia for the info on the sites. It will give you more info. You can find the exact same map (with better resolution) via google.

This app contain very limited information, is slow, and crashes often. Totally useless.

For the price I expected more than static content. There are some interesting facts but this app is not GPS enabled, no way to see where am I and what am I near.

Awful. Useless. Waste of $5. Not user friendly at all. Tried to use it on the trail and it was terrible. No GPS functioning.

I bought and tried on an iPhone and iPhone, neither worked. App would open but when you start it you only get a white screen. Rebooted and even reloaded, no luck. Sadly it is junk and I could have used it. :(

MAYBE IM NOT THE SMARTEST BUT FOUND WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A MAP TO FOLLOW THE TRAIL TO BE NO MORE THAN BASIC DETAILS OF THE LOCATIONS AND TOO MANY SHOPPING OPPORTUNITIES. NO REAL MAP TO FOLLOW ONLY STORES CLOSE TO HISTORIC LOCATIONS. WASTE OF 5 BUCKS.....

I believe in supporting non-profits, but this app is a complete ripoff. It doesnt even tell you where to begin the trail. Or what the path of the trail is. And it gives very little info per stop. Its all just short text. Do not buy!!
